Better Sports at FIBO Cologne 2025

Trade Show · Product Launch · April 2025 · Better Sports

From 10–13 April 2025, the Better Sports export team exhibited at FIBO Cologne, the world’s leading trade fair for fitness, wellness, and health. This marked our third consecutive year at FIBO and provided an opportunity to unveil our 2025 product innovations to European buyers, distributors, and fitness studio owners.

What We Showcased

Smart Fitness Accessories

The headline attraction was our smart-counting jump rope, developed under an exclusive ODM agreement with a UK fitness-tech brand. The handle embeds a low-power Bluetooth module that syncs with a companion app to track jumps, calories, and workout duration. We also demonstrated a prototype smart resistance band with embedded tension sensors—still in development but generating strong buyer interest.

Eco-Friendly Yoga Line

Following the success of our TPE eco-mats in 2024, we expanded the range with:

  • Cork-top alignment mats — natural cork surface bonded to recycled-rubber base, laser-etched alignment guides.
  • Organic cotton yoga straps — GOTS-certified cotton with metal D-rings, plastic-free packaging.
  • Recyclable TPE blocks — closed-cell foam in muted earth tones, 100% recyclable at end of life.

Adjustable Fabric Resistance Bands

Our patented buckle-system fabric bands drew significant attention from boutique gym chains and PT studios. Unlike standard loop bands, these allow users to adjust resistance length and attach handles or ankle cuffs for multi-exercise versatility. The buyer from a major German gym franchise placed a trial order on the spot.

Market Trends We Observed

  1. Sustainability is now standard, not premium. Buyers at every price tier asked about recyclable packaging, material origins, and carbon footprint data.
  2. Smart connectivity is moving down-market. What began as a high-end feature is now expected in mid-range products, especially for home-fitness brands.
  3. Compact, travel-friendly formats are growing. Post-pandemic hybrid work models have created demand for portable equipment that fits in a carry-on.

Meetings & Outcomes

Over four days, our team held 47 scheduled meetings and collected contact details from 120+ walk-in visitors. Immediate outcomes include:

  • 3 LOIs (Letters of Intent) signed for exclusive ODM programs.
  • 12 sample requests for the smart jump rope and fabric band lines.
  • 1 existing customer expanded their 2025 forecast by 40% after reviewing the new catalogue.

Next Stop: IHRSA 2025

Following FIBO, the team traveled to the US for IHRSA in March, where the focus shifted to commercial gym chains and hospitality fitness programs. A full recap of IHRSA will be published separately.
